Job Requirements Wenner Media seeks a Politics Editor to expand and
oversee political coverage on the newly re-designed Rollingstone.com.
The chief responsibilities are to aggregate and frame relevant news from
around the web, to work with Rolling Stones staff of regular
contributers and freelancers to provide timely blogs and other content,
to envision and create original Web-only political features, and to
develop Rollingstone.com as a leading site for political news and views.

Responsibilities:
- Manage all day-to-day coverage of politics on the site, including
identifying which stories to cover and how best to present them from a
Rolling Stone perspective
- Coordinate and manage workflow of bloggers, both in-house and
freelance, to cover compelling political news
- Oversee a full-time assistant to support the national affairs desk
- Work closely with Digital Operations, Production, Marketing and Sales
to help develop larger political editorial initiatives for the site
- Promote the site and build traffic through frequent and imaginative
use of Twitter and other social-networking tools

Qualifications:
- 3+ years experience as a political editor, preferably online, with the
ability to conceive, assign and edit high-level pieces that cover the
world of politics
- Strong understanding and passion for the political landscape
- Must possess strong contacts/relationships in politics and media
- Deep understanding of online news operations and social networking
capabilities
- Managerial skills that include supervising cooperatively,
diplomatically, and effectively
- Adaptable and able to get things done with limited resources
- Self-starter who can make quick judgments and thrives working in a
fast paced environment
