A debit card is a small plastic card, used as an alternative cash payment method while making purchases. In actual, debit card is an ISO 7810 card, a type of credit card but its functionality is very identical to writing cheque as if the funds are taken out directly form the cardholder s’ bank account or the balance of the card itself. The cardholder may insert their card into the card processor to purchase any thing from the departmental stores of merchants. The cardholder may hand over his card to the merchant and the transaction is endorsed and processed when the cardholder verifies the transaction by signing sales receipt or adding PIN.
