RHCE path

Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification consists of three portions. The first part consists of multiple choices like other certifications. In the second part you will debug a lab. In this part you will be given a system with something damage and you will be asked to diagnose and fix the problem. You will not do this all via simulations; you will actually do this on a computer that has Red Hat operating system. In the third and final part consist of installation and configuration. The candidates are not allowed to bring any helping material or notes during the exam. Multiple choice sections are the easiest section of this exam.

 

You will be asked to attempt the 40 to 50 multiple choice questions in 60 minutes. In debugging section you will be given approximately two to four tasks to be solved in 2.5 hours. The examiner can say you to make this system successful boot. RHCE exam mostly include the boot failure and network problem. The last and final section is about the Server Installation and Network Services Setup section. The total time of this section is 2.5 hours and is performance based. This section is also said The Server Installation and Network Services Exam needs examinees to install and configure a Red Hat Linux server on an x86 system. In the configuration, you will configure network service, user environment, account management and other element. The candidate need to get 80% scores with no individual section lower than 50%. If the candidate couldn’t get 50% on the debugging exam, he cannot pass.

Exam Contents

Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification exam include the installation, operation, configuration and management of Linux as a desktop use and server. It is expected that the question will be asked within these exam contents.

 

Installation of Linux

In this first exam content, you will know how to install the Linux, partition the hard drive, configure Linux and Microsoft OS on the same system, create hardware list, start system with boot disk, use the setup agent, install OS step by step and install Linux over the network. Linux Fundamentals

Network Services
